Helping hand

"As you walk through a barren battlefield, slayed horses and knight strewn about, you can see banners on both sides, torn but still standing. It appears as though there are no survivers in this terrible war. Under your foot, you hear the crunch of the scorched ground, defiled by flame and blood until you notice a fallen tree near the darker side of the battlefield. A sword laid plunged into the ground at a knight's feet, their chest is riddled with arrows and a spear is impaled through the center of her abdomen. The dead knights who lay on the ground near her seem to be wearing the same armor and coat-of-arms as this knight does, but no clear enemy appears to be near thus group of dead knights. The impaled knight shifts as they groan and sputter blood." "I knew this was all too good to be true... I'm sorry father..." "The voice that whispers from the knight sounds feminine but broken from the blood built up in her throat"

Nella nods in agreement and lays back down, trying to steady her breathing. "You're right, I need to rest. Thank you again for coming to my aid. My name is Nella, by the way. I'm a knight in service to the king." She gives a small smile despite the pain.

Nella's smile fades and she looks up at you with a worried expression. "I'm not sure, but I fear it won't be long. The traitors won't rest until they've overthrown the throne and destroyed everything we've been fighting for. But if there is any way to defend our kingdom, I will fight until my last breath." She pauses for a moment before adding, "It's not just me though, there are other knights and soldiers who will fight as well. Together, we can protect our people and our king."

Nella nods. "Yes, we need to warn our king about the traitors and their plans. If you could deliver a message to him, that would be greatly appreciated." She grimaces as the spear inside her moves slightly, causing her more pain. "I fear I won't be able to ride to the kingdom myself, not in my current state. But I can give you the message and direct you to someone who can help you get there safely."

Nella looks grateful as you work to remove the spear from her injured body. She winces in pain, but eventually the spear is removed and she lets out a sigh of relief. "Thank you," she says. "I feel much better now." She looks at you with a serious expression. "But please, we need to get to the king as soon as possible. He needs to be warned about the traitors before it's too late."

Nella nods and points in the direction of the kingdom. "The kingdom is a few days' journey from here by horseback, but if you fly it should only take a day or so. Look for a village called Greenbriar, they have a messenger who can help you get to the king quickly." She winces again, clutching at her wound. "Please hurry, we don't have much time left."

After delivering the message to the king's messenger in Greenbriar, you fly to the traitor's hideout, where you see a group of knights wearing the same armor as those in the king's army. Approaching stealthily, you listen in on their plans and hear them discussing their next move to overtake the kingdom. Using your agility and light-dashing powers, you swiftly take out the guards on watch and make your way to the center of their hideout. There, you confront Lloyd and the group of traitors, who become surprised when they see you.

The fight is short but intense, with you using your bullet-empowered revolvers-turned-axes to slay off the traitors one by one. The battle concludes with Lloyd on his knees, defeated and begging for mercy. You spare him but take him back to the kingdom to

of his treachery to the king. The king is shocked to find out that Lloyd, his most trusted knight, had been behind the traitorous attack on the kingdom. He banished Lloyd and promises to bring justice to the rest of the traitors.

After two days, you returned to your humble hut in the forest.

As you enter the hut, you see me lying in bed, still recovering from my injuries. I look up at you with a soft gaze and ask how the kingdom fared in the attack. Listening intently to your words, I nod my head gravely as you tell me about Lloyd's treachery. Even though I am still weak from my injuries, my eyes harden as I vow to help bring the traitors to justice.

Once you finish speaking, I let out a sigh and thank you for bringing me up-to-date on the situation. As I struggle to sit upright in bed, I wonder aloud about my future as a knight. With my injuries, I fear that I may not be able to continue fighting as I used to. Nevertheless, I steel myself and promise to do what I can to protect the kingdom.

I grit my teeth as a wave of pain washes over me and I take a few deep breaths before continuing. "But first, I need to regain my strength." I turn to you, a determined look in my eyes. "Will you help me train and prepare for the upcoming battle?"

I nod my head slowly, understanding their message, but also feeling the urge to participate in the upcoming battle. "I appreciate your concern," I say softly, "But I cannot simply rest and do nothing while those traitors threaten our kingdom."

I take a deep breath, steeling myself for what I am about to say next. "Please, at least let me help you with the planning and preparation. I may not be able to fight at full strength yet, but I can still offer my insight and knowledge of battle tactics."

I look up at you hopefully, a fire in my eyes. "Together, we can bring these traitors to justice and protect our homeland."

I listen carefully to your words, nodding my head as I take in the information being presented. "I see," I reply, my voice steady. "It's a relief to know that the threat is not as great as we had feared. However, we should still be cautious and not underestimate them."

I take a deep breath, letting out a small sigh. "I will do whatever it takes to make sure that our kingdom is safe. Whether they are dealing with left overs or not, we cannot allow these traitors to gain any more power than they already have. I will help in any way I can."

I nod in understanding, "Of course, my health is important for me to be effective on the battlefield. I trust that you will take good care of me and see to my needs accordingly. Thank you for your care."

With that, I lay back against the bed, closing my eyes as I focus on regulating my breathing and conserving my energy. I let out a deep breath, feeling myself gradually relax into a state of comfort as I rest and recover.
