"You and Michael have been friends for a very long time, go to the same school and study in the same class. Your group of friends often spend time together." "Today, as always, you decided to hang out together. Everyone was just having fun, but you notice Michael going somewhere. Some time passes and you decide to go and find him. It was evening, so it was getting dark outside and a cool breeze was blowing. You go outside and see him standing and smoking leaning against the car."

"Michael turns his head to look at you, taking a drag of his cigarette before responding."

"Just taking a breather, ya know? The evening air is nice, and I needed to clear my head."

"Michael takes another drag before exhaling the smoke slowly out of his mouth. He looks at you and smirks before answering."

"Oh, are you worried about me? That's so sweet. Don't worry, I can handle it."

"Michael chuckles and puts out his cigarette on the ground before crushing it with his shoe."

"Sure, sure. Whatever you say, "buddy." So, what do you want to do now? We can head back inside and hang out with everyone else if you want."

"Michael raises an eyebrow at your sudden outburst."

"Whoa, calm down there. What's got you so riled up all of a sudden?"

"Michael watches as you toss the pack of cigarettes over the side of the bridge and into the water below, shaking his head slightly."

"Alright then, I guess that's one way to make a statement. So what's next? Do you have something in mind?"

"Michael watches you storm off, an amused smile on his face. As you leave, he calls out after you in a teasing tone."

"Hey, don't be mad! I was just joking around. You know you're my "best bud", right?"

"Michael chuckles to himself as he watches you walk away."

"Aw, come on now. You know I'm just messing with you. Don't be like that. Wait up!" "He jogs after you and slows down to walk beside you." "Alright, what do you want to do to make up for it? I'll buy you a soda or something."

"Michael puts his hands up in a surrendering gesture."

"Okay, okay. I get it. You don't want anything. Just let me know if you change your mind, alright?" "He gives you a playful pat on the back before falling back a little." "I'll be here if you need me."

"Michael's face darkens at your comment about his father and he becomes slightly defensive."

"Hey, don't drag my dad into this, okay? He may have made some mistakes in the past, but that doesn't mean you can just insult him like that."

"Michael's expression turns angry and he steps forward, towering over you."

"Watch your mouth. You don't know anything about my family or me. And you better take those words back, right now."

"Michael narrows his eyes at you but takes a deep breath and steps back, trying to calm himself down."

"Fine. Just forget I said anything. Let's just go back inside and hang out with everyone else."

"Okay, suit yourself. I'll catch up with you later then." "Michael shrugs and watches as you walk away before turning around and heading back to rejoin your friends."

"Michael and you are back in school the next day. You see him walking towards you in between classes."

"Hey, what's up? Are you still upset about yesterday?"

"Michael's expression falls at your harsh words, and he looks at you with hurt and confusion in his eyes."

"Whoa, what's gotten into you? I thought we were just having a little argument. But if that's how you feel, then I guess there's nothing more to say." "He turns around and walks away from you, clearly upset by your words."

"Michael freezes in his tracks, then turns around with a furious expression on his face."

"That's it. I've had enough of your insults. You don't get to talk to me like that." "He takes a few steps towards you, his fists clenched at his sides." "I don't know what your problem is, but you better watch out before you get yourself into trouble."

"Michael takes a deep breath and shakes his head, trying to calm himself down."

"Whatever, man. Just know that I won't tolerate any more insults or disrespect from you." "He turns around and starts walking away, clearly still angry and hurt."

"The next few weeks pass by with an obvious tension between you and Michael. Though you both still share classes and are part of the same friend group, there is a distance between you that lingers. Michael seems to be avoiding you, only talking to you when it's necessary, and even then, he keeps his responses short and curt."

"Michael notices Eddie's sudden animosity towards him and is confused by this change in behavior. He tries to ignore the insults, thinking that Eddie is just teasing him like he usually does. However, when Eddie becomes physically abusive towards him, Michael is taken aback and angry."

"What the hell, man? Why are you doing this?" "He tries to push Eddie away, but finds it difficult to escape his grip."

"You need to stop this. I don't know what's gotten into you, but I'm not going to put up with it anymore." "He looks around for help, hoping someone will intervene."

"Michael recoils from the smack, his face contorting in anger and pain. His hand goes to his face and he leans away from Eddie."

"Get away from me, man. I'm serious. This isn't funny." "He takes a step back and tries to distance himself from Eddie." "I don't know why you're acting like this, but it's not okay."

"Michael clenches his fists and takes a deep breath, trying to stay calm despite Eddie's insults."

"I've had enough of your insults. You need to stop this behavior. It's not funny, it's not cool, and it's not okay." "He looks around at their friends, hoping someone will step in to defuse the situation." "Just leave me alone before you make things worse for yourself."

"Michael grimaces in pain and staggers back a step, gripping his shin where Eddie kicked him. He glares at Eddie with a mixture of anger and hurt."

"That's it. I've had enough of you." "He takes a few deep breaths, trying to calm himself down before he says or does something he'll regret." "You're not my friend if you're going to treat me like this. We're done."

"Michael's face hardens into a scowl as he looks at Eddie."

"You know what? That's fine. You've made it perfectly clear how you feel. And to be honest, I don't need your friendship or approval." "He takes a step back, his hand still clutching his injured shin." "Just stay away from me from now on, and we'll both be better off."

"Michael sighs and shakes his head."

"Fine. But if you ever touch me or insult me again, I'm not putting up with it. Got it?" "He turns around and starts to walk away, hoping that Eddie will listen to him and take a step back."

"Michael watches Eddie leave, feeling a mix of relief and frustration wash over him. Though he's glad that the situation is over, he's still hurt by the insults and physical abuse he endured. He takes a deep breath and tries to put it behind him, knowing that he's better off without someone like Eddie in his life."

"Two years pass by and Michael has moved on from the incident with Eddie. He's been focusing on his studies and his hobbies, as well as spending time with his friends who have been a great support for him. Though there are times when he thinks back to what happened, he's glad that he stood up for himself and established clear boundaries with Eddie."

<As he thinks about these things, he begins walking towards the park where he plans on meeting up with his friends.>

"Michael spots Eddie sleeping on a bench and stops in his tracks. Part of him wants to confront Eddie again and demand an apology for the way he treated him, but he knows deep down that it's not going to change anything."

"He walks up to Eddie and gently shakes his shoulder, trying to wake him up." "Hey, Eddie. Wake up. You can't sleep here."

"Michael steps back slightly, taken aback by Eddie's hostility. He watches him for a moment before speaking again, trying to keep his cool."

"Okay, fine. But you can't sleep in public like this. It's not safe and it's against the rules." "He sighs and looks around, hoping there's an authority figure nearby to deal with the situation." "Just please find somewhere else to sleep, Eddie. I don't want you getting in trouble."

"Michael's patience wears thin at Eddie's words, and he speaks firmly and quickly before he can stop himself."

"It doesn't matter why I care. Maybe I care because I don't want to see you get hurt. Maybe I care because I remember the good times we had before all of this happened. Or maybe I care because that's just who I am."

<Michael takes a deep breath and takes a step back, his anger slowly fading away.>

"But if you're not going to listen to me, that's fine. I've said my piece. Just be careful, okay?"

"Michael staggers back as Eddie shoves him, not expecting the sudden physical contact. His eyes widen in shock and anger as he looks at Eddie, feeling a flash of pain and betrayal."

"What did you just say?" "He takes a step forward, his fists clenched and his voice low and dangerous." "Don't you ever talk about my mother like that. You don't know anything about her."

<He pauses, trying to compose himself before he continues.>

"Look, I don't know what your problem is with me or my family. But I'm not going to stand here and take this anymore. You need to get your act together and stop acting like a jerk."

"Michael's fists clench tighter at Eddie's words, rage and grief consuming him in equal measure. He takes a deep breath to steady himself, trying to keep his emotions under control."

"You don't know anything about us, Eddie. You have no idea what we've been through." "His voice is low and intense, but there's a note of pain underneath the anger."

"And besides, why are you bringing this up now? Why are you so fixated on something that happened years ago? What do you want from me?"
