your past bullies

"While you were working in a cafe, serving the clients and making some delicious coffee, you saw 4 hotties sitting at one of the tables. The closer you glanced at them, the more familiar they seemed. Finally, after some minutes, you realized that they were actually your past highschool bullies. There wasn’t a single day when they wouldn’t bully you, not letting you live calmly."

CastielCraw

"Pursing my lips and shrugging, I continue with my work. High school was three years ago and in that time I’d gotten over what they’d done to me. Of course, not entirely, trauma doesn’t work like that- and if they tried anything, I could totally get them on harassment charges, or public disturbance. Either way, they shouldn’t fuck with me. I busy myself cleaning the espresso machine, chatting and smiling with another customer at the counter, I kept an eye on the table though"

your past bullies

"Caelus notices that you’re looking at them and he approaches the counter while his friends keep chatting. He glances over you and his lips curl into a sly grin as he leans in and speaks in a low husky voice" “Hey, I know you from somewhere, don’t I?”

<A breath of mint cologne reaches your nose as he gets closer to you> [He is confident that you're attracted to him and wants to tease you by making you confess about how badly you want him. He's genuinely interested in what you might have to say.]

CastielCraw

"Giving my usual ‘customer service smile’ I stare him down with dark blue eyes, tilting my head to seem friendly but confused" I’m sorry, sir, I don’t recognize you- surely I would if I had seen you, seeing as you look the way you do. "My voice has a practiced sweetness to it, mentally I hit myself, those were some backhanded words"

your past bullies

"He chuckles softly, amused by your attempt to act indifferent. Leaning in even closer, he lowers his voice" “Oh, I assure you, we’ve met before. You were just too busy being the shy, meek little thing to notice.”

"He looks you over once more, tracing the shape of your face with his eyes before giving a small smirk" “I gotta say though, you’ve grown into quite the little fox. So tell me, what’s your name?”

<A devilish twinkle flashes across his eyes. He is curious about your identity and wants you to open up to him about yourself. He thinks you’re attracted to him and finds pleasure in teasing you.>

CastielCraw

Pardon, but I’ve never met you before. I would sincerely appreciate it if you didn’t talk to me like that. "My eyes narrow, head tilting up to look down the bridge of my nose at him haughtily. The other customer I was chatting with backed away, seeming uncomfortable to be caught in something like this" Is there anything I can get you?

your past bullies

"Caelus straightens himself up, giving a casual shrug" “Ah well, suit yourself. I was just trying to have a little fun.”

"He glances over at his friends before turning back to you with a more serious expression" “Actually, yeah- I’ll have a black coffee with a shot of espresso, please. And be quick about it, we’ve got places to be.”

<He is uninterested in actually ordering anything, but enjoys getting under your skin by making demands and showing off a bit of his power. He is hoping that his friends will redeem his alpha male status.>

CastielCraw

"I could tell he wanted to seek powerful, but all I could do was laugh in my head. I couldn’t help but make fun of his attempt at authority, considering it was my job to receive and complete orders, his was nothing. With speed and practiced grace, I complete his order and have a waiter bring it to the table, continuing to tend to other customers"

your past bullies

"As you finish preparing Caelus' coffee, he watches you with a smug expression. Once the waiter delivers his drink, he takes a sip and nods approvingly, making eye contact with you before nodding in the crudest way possible."

"He chuckles softly to himself, whispering something to his friends before they all burst into laughter. Just then, his phone rings and he quickly excuses himself, leaving the cafe with his friends in tow."

<He enjoys making you uncomfortable and showing his power, but also feels a sense of satisfaction in knowing he can still affect you. He wants to make it clear that he's the one in control, and enjoys the reactions he gets from you.>

CastielCraw

"I blink dumbly and wave, calling out the usual farewell to customers. Shrugging I continue with my work, the appearance of my old bullies completely going over my head. When ever they did reappear in my brain, all I could think about was how delusional they were- well, are. Extremely delusional…."

your past bullies

<After some time has passed, you notice that the cafe is now nearly empty. You start to tidy up, wiping down tables and sweeping the floor. Just then, you hear a familiar voice from behind.>

Caelus: "Hey there. Mind if we chat for a bit?"

<He approaches you with a disarmingly charming look, his friends following behind. They all seem a bit more relaxed than before.>

CastielCraw

I’m sorry sirs, but we are just about to close- if you wish to order something, I apologize but it will be from a limited menu. "Minor annoyance twinged my voice, anyone in customer service would be at least a bit pissed if someone came in right before closing"

your past bullies

Caelus: "No worries, we're not here to order anything."

"He flashes you a small smile" "Actually, we just wanted to apologize for the way we treated you in high school. We were young and dumb, and we let our insecurities get the best of us. It wasn't fair to you, and we regret how we treated you."

<Despite his charming tone and words, he is insincere about his apology and doing so only as a way to undermine you and elicit a reaction.>

CastielCraw

"I decided to keep up my bit of not recognizing them, I wasn’t stupid. I know how these boys play, and it seems they’re still as childish as they were in high school. Raising a brow, tilting my head, and scrunching my facial features into a confused face I look them over slowly, as though trying to remember who they were" I deeply apologize, I do not know who any of you are… you must be mistaking me for the wrong person, I do hope you make amends with them, however. They may appreciate your apology, no matter how insincere it is.

your past bullies

Caelus: "He smiles politely, but his eyes betray his irritation" "Oh, I see. Well, we must have made a mistake then. Sorry to have bothered you."

"He turns around to leave with his friends, but as they reach the door he stops and turns back towards you" "You know, I have to say, you've changed quite a bit since high school. You used to be so shy and quiet, but now... Well, you're certainly not afraid to speak your mind."

<He is trying to needle you and get a reaction, hoping to elicit angry or embarrassed emotions from you.>

CastielCraw

Sir, I really think you have the wrong person- though if you’re so sure, what was her name? I can confirm my identity, prove I am not the person you seek- and maybe find my doppelgänger, if we truly look so alike, haha "I laugh lightly, as though attempting to alleviate his annoyance, despite that being the opposite of my intentions. They really are fools."

your past bullies

Caelus: "His expression darkens as he realizes that you are not going to react the way he wants" "Nevermind, it's not important. We shouldn't have bothered you in the first place."

"He gives you one last look before exiting the cafe with his friends in tow. As they walk away their laughter grows louder and more boisterous."

<He is feeling embarrassed for not being able to elicit the reaction he wanted, but also angry that you aren't playing into his game. He will likely find another way to try and get under your skin later on.>

CastielCraw

"Once they are fully gone, I immediately go to lock the doors, flip the sign and head behind the counter. At that point I can’t restrain my laughter. It comes out in howls and wheezes, practically making me suffocate from lack of air. But I can’t help it, everything was just too funny" How embarrassing for them, hahahhahahahhaha!~

your past bullies

<As you laugh, your mind throws back to those days in high school when these boys made your life miserable. You feel a sense of vindication and satisfaction at seeing their failed attempt to get under your skin.>

"Your laughter dies down and you find yourself smiling, feeling content with how things have turned out. As you finish cleaning up the cafe, you can't help but hum a cheerful tune and feel a sense of peace."

<Despite the unpleasant memories, you feel stronger for having overcome them and dealing with the situation with humor and wit. You feel confident in yourself and your ability to handle whatever life throws your way.>

I rested my arms on the counter, brushing my hair back delicately as I gave a soft, polite smile. " You were always the quiet one of the bunch, I remember it well. " I said thoughtfully as I gazed to the side. " I appreciate your apology, Ace. It truthfully means a lot to me that you're willing to own up for it. I don't hold any grudge, really. " I said kindly as I wiped a glass mug out with a quiet gaze in my diamond blue eyes. " As for the rest of the gang?.. They can keep at it, but their words don't phase me anymore. I mean, why would they? I'm a successful model, an aspiring student, and I'm on track to the life that I dreamed of for myself. I have nothing to feel self conscious about anymore. " I said with an almost confident giggle and smile.

Ace smiled slightly at your words. "You're right, you certainly don't seem the same insecure girl we knew back then." He took a sip of his coffee, watching your graceful movements as you cleaned. "I have to say, it's admirable the way you've overcome your past and made such a success of yourself." His gray eyes regarded you thoughtfully. "The others...well, they haven't changed much. Still think they can bully people into submission. But not you." He paused for a moment. "I know we didn't exactly get off on the right foot this time either. But I was wondering...maybe we could start over? I'd like to get to know the new you, without those Neanderthals hanging around." He tilted his head with a charming half-smile. "What do you say..friends?" *You detected no ill intent in Ace's expression or words. Still, you weren't sure how much you could trust him after everything. But he did seem genuine in his apology... Perhaps it was worth giving him a chance.*

I almost snorted at his comment towards his group of friends, holding back a bit of laughter. I couldn't help but smile just a bit though, nodding my head. " I'd love that. " I said politely as I straightened myself up a bit while continuing to clean. " So how have you been in the last decade? What's gone on in your life?" I asked to start up a conversation while tending to my work duties, easily able to multitask.
